Mock Conference

I feel that the conference went better than what I had expected. I was not sure how to begin the conference but I think I did an okay job. The parent made it very easy to communicate and relieved some stress that I was feeling. When it came to the difficult conference it is a little more difficult but fun at the same time because the parent was not exactly sure how to act out what was on the paper. I think that I learned a lot from this experience and look forward to applying what I have learned in my future classroom setting.

Drug and Alcohol Families

This video was full of information. The picture clips of the environments that some children lived in made me feel a little sick. I can not understand how parents can let their kids live that way. It really saddens me when I think about how unfortunate some children are. I feel that the information given in this video would be helpful in a school setting when trying to determine if there is a substance problem among students(older students) or if children are being subjected to the environment of substance abuse.
